Abstract

Background: The dislocation of the caudal septal is a respiratory and cosmetic problem. The treatment of caudal septal dislocation presents a formidable challenge.

Aim and objective: In order to prevent a re-dislocation of the caudal septum, this article describes an easy procedure for suturing the caudal septum in the columellar pocket in a two-level way to enhance its stability and correct its positioning.

Patients and methods: This prospective research was performed on thirty cases with anterior nasal septal dislocation in the Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Department, Al Azhar University Hospital (Damietta).

Results: There was a highly statistically significant distinction among the study population regarding Nasal congestion, Nasal blockage, trouble breathing, trouble sleeping, and Unable to get air through exercise in Nasal Obstruction Septoplasty Effectiveness score evaluation between the results of 1 month and 3month postoperative p=0.616, 1, 0.689, 0.983, 0.669 respectively. There was a statistically significant difference among the study population in outcomes 3 months Preoperative and postoperatively regarded as Rhinorrhea, Nasal obstruction, Postnasal drip, Hyposmia and Sleep disturbance p= 0.002, 0.005, 0.007, 0.047, 0.012 respectively.

Conclusion: Goldman and modified Goldman techniques offer significant functional and cosmetic benefits in treating caudal septal dislocations, avoiding scars, septal support requirements, and nasal tip complications, without requiring septal support.
