Aims & Scope
Al-Azhar International Medical Journal (AIMJ) is objective to publish All types of articles about developments in all areas related to Medical Academic, Clinical, and Surgical fields and to provide a forum for correspondence and discussion.
Original and Novel manuscripts on any aspect of Medicine and Surgery and their super and subspecialties are invited for publication. These include academic medicine, clinical research, and operative procedures with an emphasis on outcome, and technical innovations.
Topics:
- Basic medical science including Anatomy, histology, medical Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Parasitology, Pathology, Pharmacology, and Forensic Medicine.
- Internal Medicine and Subspecialty (includes chest, endemic diseases and tropical medicine, cardiovascular, neurological and psychological, Clinical Pathology, industrial medicine, space medicine, and skin and reproductive).
- Pediatrics with its Subspecialty.
- General Surgery and Subspecialty (includes orthopedics, urology, ear, nose and throat, thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, Onco surgery, and plastic surgery).
- Anesthesiology, emergency and ICU medicine.
- Ophthalmology.
- Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Radiology
Types of Articles:
- Original research articles should generally be no more than 3000 words in length, with 50 references and 10 figures/illustrated images/ tables. Please note that composite figures count as individual items.
- Review papers and Meta-analysis should be no more than 4000 words, with 100 references and 16 figures/illustrated images/tables. Please note that composite figures count as individual items. Other article types:
- Case Reports and Series: Limited acceptance, Only AIMJ will accept the unique findings in diagnosis and management. The article should be no more than 800 words in length with 10 references and 4 tables/figures.
- Ideas and Innovations, Editorial letter and Opinions should be no more than 500 words in length, with five references and two tables/figures. If the letter is in response to a published article, then the article should be included in the reference list.
