Abstract

Background: Inflammation & tissue damage are hallmarks of the autoimmune disease systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), which is characterized by the generation of autoantibodies as well as the deposition of immune complexes with complement activation. Aim and objective: The goal of the research was to examine the connection among vitamin D levels as well as additional clinical and laboratory markers for individuals with LN. Patients & Methods: This prospective comparison research was done in the Internal Medicine department of the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Azhar University on a total of forty patients who were split up into three different groups. Group 1 consisted of fifteen individuals who had systemic lupus but no nephritis at the time of the study. Group 2 consisted of fifteen individuals who were suffering from lupus nephritis. Group 3 consisted of ten people who were controlled cases. Results: There was statistical significance amongst three studied groups, there was no significant ANA & anti-ds DNA. Conclusion: There was a positive inverse relationship between levels of Vitamin D also Systemic Lupus Erythematosus patients with LN
