Abstract

Background: Fetal inborn irregularities comprise a huge etiological figure in perinatal and infant passing rates, as well as a contributing element to youth disease. The use of the US for the pre-birth conclusion of intrinsic imperfections is a worldwide polished technique utilized to survey the underlying improvement of the hatchling during the whole span of development.

Aim: To determine how effective 4D ultrasound is at assessing and identifying fetal GIT anomalies.

Patients and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 100 pregnant women with suspected fetal anomalies were examined and sonographically evaluated at Al-Azhar University Hospital (Assiut). The cases were collected from September 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023.

Results: The connection between inconsistencies distinguished and US discoveries, as all esophageal atresia cases showed polyhydramnios and nonappearance of stomach bubble, all duodenal atresia cases gave polyhydramnios and twofold air pocket indication, 1 (half) of omphalocele cases showed polyhydramnios, and 1case (11.1%) with other framework abnormalities showed polyhydramnios.

Conclusion: As the use of 4D ultrasound grows and the technology itself improves, it is reasonable to anticipate that its use will grow and improve the effectiveness and accuracy of 2D US in the diagnosis of fetal anomalies.
