Abstract

Background: Chronic liver diseases and disorders has been accompanied by pulmonary complications and dysfunction that occur before and/or after hepatic transplantation. Detection of these lung complications is necessary for therapeutic interventions. This is a prospective cohort study that analyzes the pulmonary complications before and after liver transplantation. Results: In patients suffering from hepatopulmonary syndrome who were subjected to liver transplantation there was a high statistically significant improvement in PaO2 from 58.41 ± 4.00 to 87.12 ± 12.02 mmHg (room air) (p
